The 8 Point Lift: Liquid Facelift or Non-surgical Facelift

The 8 point lift is an attractive option for people who want to look refreshed without going under the knife – it is a non-surgical facelift that takes around 20 minutes and requires very little downtime.

The 8 point lift is also known as the liquid facelift

The procedure, also known as a liquid facelift, can be the perfect treatment for patients who have noticed early signs of ageing but don’t need a full facelift.

Is the 8 point lift right for me?

As we age, our skin loses elasticity and becomes thinner. Loss of collagen and the soft tissues in the face can result in wrinkles and the definition of the jawline and the cheeks can be obscured. The soft tissues of the face also lose volume as we get older. We may look tired and start to feel self conscious about our appearance.

My patients’ main concerns are usually that their jawline has become less defined, they have lost youthful volume in the cheeks and they may have eye bags or dark circles, fine lines, jowling or marionette lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

The 8 point lift is a technique using fillers in eight specific areas of the face to lift throughout and enhance the face with youthful volume.

Results are instant and very natural looking, which is impressive for such a quick and minimally invasive treatment.

People are often told they look refreshed and rejuvenated after the 8 point lift.

What parts of the face are treated in an 8 point lift?

The 8 point lift is a bespoke treatment and is tailored to the individual’s facial characteristics and what they want to achieve.

But as a guideline, a small amount of high quality fillers are usually injected in the following areas:

  1. Lateral cheekbone (zygomatic arch): The cheeks are lifted, enhancing the cheekbones and lifting the nasolabial folds (commonly known as smile lines)

  2. Cheekbone projection (zygomatic eminence): The cheeks are lifted, enhancing the cheekbones and lifting the nasolabial folds (commonly known as smile lines)

  3. Anteromedial cheek: The mid-face and tear trough can lose volume, leaving us looking tired and with hollows under the eyes. The 8 point lift helps to reduce this sunken, worn-out appearance

  4. Nasolabial fold: the nasolabial fold and corners of the mouth become more defined as we age. A small amount of filler in this area gives a brighter and more youthful look

  5. Marionette lines: the 8 point lift improves the appearance of marionette lines

  6. In front of jowls (pre-jowl sulcus): helps improve the appearance of jowls

  7. Jawline: the 8 point lift reshapes and lifts the jawline

  8. Lower cheek (parotid and submalar region): Hollowing in the lower cheek occurs naturally as we age but it can make the face look a bit gaunt and thin. As part of the 8 point lift, this area is often treated with filler to enhance the natural curve of the cheek and lift the jawline

Is it painful?

I use high quality fillers called Juvederm Voluma and Juvederm Volift which contain local anaesthetic to perform this procedure.

Some people experience a small amount of discomfort but most of my patients have been surprised by how straightforward the treatment is.

I minimise discomfort using the latest techniques and equipment.

What is recovery like?

Mild bruising can occur following the procedure but no downtime is required. I ask patients not to wear makeup for six hours after having the 8 point facelift just to reduce any risk of infection.

How long do the results last?

The results can last for up to 18 months and I always aim to achieve the most natural look for patients.

How much does it cost?

Prices start at £750.
